"Do You Look Like God?"

"Do You Look Like God?"
(WORTH THE LONGER READ - JUST 2 MINUTES)

"Let us make mankind in our image (Gen. 1:26) is a verse that many people have tried to understand and this one verse for those who don't have understanding... they have attempted to use it to support an agenda that promotes exclusivity and superiority related to physical characteristics of mankind.

Some look at the physical structure of mankind and have made the assumption that we must look like God in some aspects. And you begin to see people creating images of spiritual things they have never seen (Exodus 20:4) , yet because of the one verse mentioned above (gen 1:26)... they use carnal knowledge to create imagery about spiritual things from a human position without a mind led by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:14). That's why you see angelic beings man attempts to show as human forms in different ways. And the corrupt nature (Galatians 5:19-21) of man then tries to claim exclusivity to those Angelic forms from a view of self.

Let us make mankind in OUR image. The "OUR" gives us a significant point of reference as it relates to the image we reflect. It does not have anything to do with the physical look of the human body...but Instead, it has EVERYTHING to do with the STRUCTURE/OPERATION of the human body that is the IMAGE of Kingdom of Heaven where the power of God is supreme.

Yes... Let us create mankind in our image refers to a Kingdom where God sits on the throne and those who are there worship Him (Revelation 4:1-11). Everything works together in the Kingdom. This is called order. There is a function for everything in the Kingdom and it all works together (Romans 8:28) as directed by the Headship... God who sits on the throne.

The Kingdom is unseen to the carnal eye due to the fall of man in Genesis 3. The fall of man caused man to fall out of the divine order of God. A fallen state means man no longer has dominion over things the way God intended until man reaches back for the Tree of Life (Jesus)... He can't understand Genesis 1:26 nor will man operate in a Gen. 1:26 mindset. When God created Adam and Eve, there would be more created later under the direction of God which would have dominion over the things God intended man to have dominion over as referred to in Genesis 1:26. The order in which God intended for man is a worship posture. Man would worship God and as a result the dominion over things came via spoken word approved by God because God's Spirit was in man (Genesis 2:7) until the fall. There was a separation that took place. Man no longer had God's spirit in him. He became a "DEAD SOUL" which is to be apart from God. A dead soul must be resurrected from "dead soul" status through the blood of Jesus Christ and repentance and acceptance of what He did for dead souls to live again.

Before the fall, mankind would have worshiped together as a function of the Kingdom of Heaven in the earth (Genesis 1:1) with dominion over Earth as it is in Heaven (Matthew 6:10). Therefore what ever we loosed on Earth was loosed in Heaven (Matthew 18:18) because what we loosed is what God wanted in the Earth to begin with. This refers to the will of the Father. The two were one, Heaven and Earth. But after the fall..man was separated from Heaven in Spirit. Heaven a Spirit place. Man, mound of flesh without the breath of life to live in a place without God's direction (Genesis 2:7-8 references where God formed man, what happened and where he brought man into which is His presence.)

Earth is now a house of sin because, man separated from God, is now a vessel used by evil (Ephesians 2:2-3) to live in the Earth. God will now have to restore what He intended in the beginning (Revelation 21:1). The image that we're created in reflects the design of the human body where every part of the body has a specific function, but works together for one purpose related to the growth and vitality of the human body. When one part does not work, it can throw the entire body off. So scripture speaks to what to do when one part of the body is not functioning as intended when it causes one to sin creating stumbling blocks. It is written that Jesus said to cut it off to keep the whole thing from ruining.

That's exactly what God did with Adam and Eve when they disobeyed Him. HE cut them off from the whole Heavenly Body.
(John 15 2 references how God operates with a bad branch).
The fall of man and what has manifested today is mankind not being in order with God. Mankind is the only species not functioning correctly as God intended. Scripture speaks to what a healthy functioning body looks like through Christ with many different functions/offices/gifts (Romans 12:4) ( 1 Corinthians 12:12-27). This is the IMAGE Genesis 1:26 is referring to. It speaks to the operation/function of mankind in relation to the Kingdom. Once man reaches back for the Tree of Life, He will want to operate as God intended in the beginning. He will want to worship with others who also have reached back for the Tree of Life. In the worship, the body of Christ is on one accord... many different skin colors, cultures and functions working seemlessly together for the GOOD OF GOD.

If you say you are a Christ Follower and then your doctrine is about separating "your kind" from other "Christ Followers"... you are still not in the image of the Kingdom of God (His power). The only image that Genesis 1:26 speaks to is an operation where there is a burning love of God and then there is a love of God's creation of other humans who don't look like you physically but worship God in spirit and in truth as well as those who are not part of His fold yet... but could still come to repentance. This is the image Genesis 1:26 speaks to... OPERATION/ORDER instead of Physical look.
